Mole Creek residents have been forced to boil water for at least 16 years*. The fact it has taken this long to fix highlights how the current system of ownership has failed, and why our takeover of TasWater is required.
There are still too many towns in Tasmania where the water is undrinkable and where sewerage infrastructure isn’t up to scratch. The fact is many towns have been waiting the
best part of a decade, sometimes longer and still don’t have adequate water and sewerage infrastructure.
The Government is committed to taking over TasWater so that we can fix the infrastructure sooner, provide better services and importantly reduce water and sewerage bills.
Our Plan is supported by TasCOSS, the TICT, the TCCI, the Property Council, Master Builders Association, developers, businesses and the broader Tasmanian community.
